Leadership

Lindsey Philips, 2018 Chair

Lindsey Phillips is the current chairperson for YPN. She has been involved in the organization for 5 years and has loved getting to know members. Lindsey was born and raised in Muscatine and loves this community. YPN is the perfect way to see who is new to the community and Lindsey loves the opportunity to be the greeting arm through the Young Professional Network.

Lindsey is a University of Iowa graduate (Go Hawks!) and has worked in social service roles in Muscatine focused on domestic violence and child/family welfare. Currently, she is the Director of the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program.

Community outreach and volunteering is something Lindsey is passionate about. She also serves on the Prevent Violence Coalition, serves as Chairperson of the Public Relations Committee for the local Chamber Ambassadors Network, and volunteers in the community for different organizations.

 Dena Ferreira, Public Relations Chair

Dena grew up in Muscatine and later received her bachelor’s degree in Marketing at Iowa State University.  After graduating, she moved to Chicago where she lived for 6 years and worked at a men’s accessories company as a product photographer and designed marketing materials.  Since moving back to Muscatine in 2013, she has worked at First National Bank in the Marketing Department where she creates ads, coordinates community involvement, and plans events.  She joined YPN as a way to get reacquainted with Muscatine and meet others who work in the community.   She enjoys being part of the planning process for the Third Thursday events and seeing the attendance grow over the years.  Her favorite spots in Muscatine are Boonies on the Avenue, Contrary Brewing, and DaBeet’s Bistro.

Tyler was born and raised in Clear Lake, Iowa. After graduating high school and enjoying 2 years of community college, he moved to Iowa State University in Ames where he received a bachelors degree in Applied Engineering. After two Internships with HNI Corporation, he moved to Muscatine to work for HNI full time. He is now a Global Supply Chain Analyst at HNI Corporation. He loves sports (especially football), downhill skiing, boating, and any other outdoor activity. YPN has created an additional area in my life to learn new  skills and improve my professional network.

The Social Committee focuses on the networking aspect amongst young professionals by introducing them to new opportunities, relationships, and resources within the Muscatine community. As the committee chair, I am responsible for planning, overseeing, and implementing all activities for YPN Muscatine as they relate to socializing and networking opportunities via special events. I joined YPN’s Leadership Committee in early 2017 and work for the HNI Corporation as an Engineer. Being from Minnesota and recently graduating Iowa State, I found that moving to a new town would be challenging. Since joining, I have extensively made new connections throughout the city of Muscatine and great friendships as well.

Alecia-Strickland

Alecia Strickland, Community & Professional Development Chair

I was born and raised in Northeast Missouri and moved to Muscatine in 2003. My husband and I live in Wapello and have a full house with our daughter, two dogs, and a cat. I studied Marketing and Graphic Design at St. Ambrose University in Davenport and I work for the Eichelberger Law Office (in Muscatine) as a Real Estate Paralegal. I joined YPN in 2015 and then in 2016, I became a member of the Community & Professional Development Committee. I enjoy getting out and socializing within the community whenever I am not spending time with my family. YPN has proven to be a great networking and self-marketing tool for myself and I highly suggest anyone who is a Young Professional come see what we are all about.
