Third Thursday – October 2013

Category : News

Third Thursday 3Thank you to Francesca Vitale’s and our featured supporter, The HON Company, for helping to make last week’s Third Thursday’s event a great one! We had a great turnout and several YPN friends left with prizes. The group also helped raise money for this year’s Coat Connection Drive. The money will be combined with the coats, hats, mittens, etc. received at next month’s event for donation to a great cause. Also, a special thank you goes out to Kent Corporation for providing gifts to support this year’s drive. Again, YPN would like to thank October’s featured supporters HON, Kent Corporation, and St Ambrose.  It was great to see their employees come out and support YPN.

Halloween Hike 2013

Category : News

Halloween Hike 2What a great turn out for this year’s Halloween Hike at the Discovery Center despite the cooler temperatures! YPN donated 250 small pumpkins and had multiple members volunteering each night to assist children and their family in coloring pumpkins. It is estimated we served over 100 children total! The volunteers assisted with selecting the pumpkins, cleaning the pumpkins and keeping the area in an orderly fashion. The outdoors skits during the hike were a blast as well. Happy Halloween!
