What a fabulous way to celebrate 10 years of the Young Professional Network of Muscatine! Live music, fantastic food catered by Geneva Golf & Country Club, an amazing support of local businesses, and a wonderful attendance of active chamber members as well as young professionals.
We began this organization with event at the Muscatine History and Industry Center 10 years ago and we were honored to celebrate there again this past week for our anniversary!
It takes a strong village to keep this organization going and growing and we could not do it without out the support of our local community, the vital , the vital role GMCCI plays in supporting us, and our active members who give their time and energy to us as often as they can!
A special thank goes out to Monsanto for co-hosting this event with and for supporting us and to Vintage Sound & The Voice of Muscatine for your corporate support! Thank you to Greg Jenkins, Gary Carlson, Shawn Schrader, Jamie Hopkins, Jodi Hansen and Trista Sotelo for speaking on the importance of YPN in this community and for your ongoing roles you play in the Muscatine community.We cannot wait to see where the next 10 years takes us!

December “Third” Thursday on Thursday, December 10
Mark your calendar for our December “Third” Thursday event on the second Thursday, December 10. The event will be held at The Rose Bowl starting at 5:30 p.m. Join us for bowling, pizza and networking.
Be sure to pull out your ugly sweaters, as we will have our annual Ugly Sweater contest as well. See you there!
October Coat Drive Recap
Last week Katie Blessing, a Realtor with Real Estate Resource Associates and YPN’s Community & Professional Development Co-Chair, dropped off coats to Community Action of Eastern Iowa Coat Connection for Muscatine families.
Coats were donated by YPN and members at the October Third Thursday.

YPN Member Spotlight!
Oisin started at HNI Corporation as an Engineering Development Program (EDP) Engineer in June of 2014. As of June 2015, he has been a Product Engineer for the HON Company working with their Transactional Products Group.
He takes primary engineering responsibility for seating products sold by HON in the basyx product line as well as the private label market.
Oisin was born in Santa Cruz, California and went on to live in several countries throughout his childhood, including Mexico, South Africa and the Philippines before moving back to the United States and settling in Minneapolis. In 2014, Oisin graduated from Iowa State University earning a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering with a minor in Astronomy.
Upon graduation, Oisin moved to Muscatine to work for HNI. While here, he helped to found the Coderdojo Muscatine chapter with his peers, and is now the acting treasurer. Oisin joined YPN in June of 2015 to meet new people outside of HNI and recently became their treasurer.
In his free time, Oisin enjoys playing tennis, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball and Frisbee golf. Having recently returned from a 10 day trip to South Africa, he also has the travel bug and enjoys going on as many trips as he can. Oisin is very excited for the direction he sees Muscatine heading, and hopes to be a helpful member of the community.
